Tax Break

Canada is still facing a persistent nursing shortage, driven in part by retention challenges, heavy workloads and the pressure of excessive overtime. That’s why the Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions (CFNU) is asking the federal government to give nurses a tax break.

The federal government introduced a refundable tax credit for personal support workers in the latest budget. This is the roadmap to give all nurses the tax break they deserve.

Join the CFNU Member Organizations’ (including NSNU) parliamentary petition for the House of Commons to amend the Income Tax Act to create a refundable federal tax credit for nurses.

Since this is a parliamentary petition, you’ll need to take one more step to make it official. Take a few seconds to validate your signature in your email. Let’s get all nurses in Canada a real break.
