The NSNU Board of Directors made up of active nursing members of the Union. Comprised of ten elected officials - one President and nine Vice Presidents - the Board of Directors is responsible for setting the strategic direction of the organization, developing and managing NSNU policies and governing the NSNU between annual meetings.

The Board of Directors is comprised of the following eleven members:

  • President – nominated from within the general membership, elected by the AGM delegates.
  • 1st Vice-President - nominated from within the general membership, elected by the AGM delegates.
  • Vice-President Finance – nominated from within the general membership, elected by the AGM delegates.
  • Vice-President Licensed Practical Nurses – nominated and elected by the LPN Component.
  • Vice-President Long Term Care – nominated and elected by the LTC Component.
  • Vice-President Community Care (VON and Canadian Blood Services) – nominated and elected by the Community Care Component.
  • Central Vice-President – nominated and elected by the Central Region delegates.
  • Eastern Vice-President - nominated and elected by the Eastern Region delegates.
  • Northern Vice-President – nominated and elected by the Northern Region delegates.
  • Western Vice-President – nominated and elected by the Western Region delegates.
  • IWK Vice-President - nominated and elected by IWK delegates.
