(Halifax, January 19, 2023) Members of the Nova Scotia Nurses’ Union, nurses working in emergency departments across the entire province, don’t see their concerns reflected in the provinces new plan to improve emergency care.

Nurses are participating in a national day of action today, protesting the lack of government action to fix the critical nursing shortage and make urgently needed improvements to Canada’s beleaguered health care system.

Nova Scotia could soon be in receipt of a considerable influx of COVID-19 vaccines, however, whether the province is able to get shots-in-arms in a timely manner is in question.

To encourage all Nova Scotians to get the vaccine, the Nurses’ Union (NSNU) launched a campaign today featuring nurses who have received their full immunization.
