Fulfilling Nurse Practitioners’ Untapped Potential in Canada’s Health Care System

Nurse Practitioners improve access to holistic, cost-effective, high-quality care that reduces wait times and costs throughout the broader health system. In an effort to understand why Canada has failed to take advantage of Nurse Practitioners' full potential to improve Canada’s health care, the Canadian Federation of Nurses Union has released a new study entitled Fulfilling Nurse Practitioners’ Untapped Potential in Canada’s Health Care System, which explores barriers to the retention and recruitment of NPs and provides recommendations to help governments across the country take action.
