National Nursing Week – May 10-16, 2021
Happy National Nursing Week from the Nova Scotia Nurses’ Union.
It has been over a year since the pandemic took hold. Since then, countless individuals, workers and organizations have worked tirelessly to keep us safer.
Nurses have played a significant role in the fight against COVID-19. From testing, immunizing and treating those who are infected, to offering compassion and heartfelt care to patients and residents, they are helping to keep our healthcare system afloat.
This National Nursing Week we celebrate NSNU members and all nurses across the province, country, and around the world. Thank you for your unwavering commitment to your patients, clients and residents.
The theme for NNW 2021 is #WeAnswertheCall. Nurses answer the call to care for patients, clients and residents even during periods of heightened personal risk. In recognition of all nurses, please, stay home to help them save lives.
Local NNW Celebrations
Although current public health guidelines restrict in-person gatherings, your local may celebrate NNW 2021 by holding a virtual event, buying a cake or lunch, or donating to a food bank or shelter charity, as some have done in the past.
However you choose to celebrate, please tag us in your photos, or email them to nsnu.office [at] nsnu.ca. We will share your photos and stories on social media and in our newsletter.
