Happy National Nursing Week from the Nova Scotia Nurses’ Union!
For the third year in a row, we celebrate Nursing Week amidst a global pandemic, and for the third year in a row, nurses have risen to the occasion. From testing, immunizing and treating those suffering from COVID-19, to offering care and compassion to other patients and residents, nurses have played a significant role in the fight against COVID-19.
The theme of National Nursing Week 2022 is #WeAnswerTheCall, developed by the Canadian Nurses Association to showcase the many roles a nurse places in a patient’s healthcare journey.
After enduring endless waves of the pandemic, we hope that National Nursing Week highlights the feelings of appreciation and gratitude that so many have for their nurses. As a nursing union, we welcome this opportunity to celebrate NSNU members and all nurses across the province, country and world. We thank you for your unwavering commitment to your patients, clients and residents.
Be sure to send us photos from your Nursing Week celebrations and we will be sure to share lots on socials and in the upcoming May edition of What’s NU?
Local NNW Celebrations
National Nursing Week is a time to come together and celebrate! Your Local may choose to mark the occasion by holding a virtual or in-person event, buying a cake or lunch, or donating to a food bank or shelter charity, as some have done in the past.
However you choose to celebrate, please tag us in your photos, or email them to nsnu.office [at] nsnu.ca. We will share your photos and stories on social media and in our newsletter.
