Regional Education – October 2019

In October the Nova Scotia Nurses’ Union is hosting education sessions in each region of the province:

  • Central Region – October 7th, NSNU Office, Dartmouth
  • Western Region – October 8th, Rodd Grand Hotel, Yarmouth
  • Eastern Region – October 10th, Holiday Inn Waterfront, Sydney
  • Northern Region – October 11th, Best Western Glengarry, Truro

The courses, which are offered during the daytime, include Leadership, the Social Determinants of Health, Psychologically Healthy Workplaces, Cannabis and the Nursing Profession, and the new online grievance and CCR processes. Course descriptions can be found below.

In order to proceed with the sessions, a minimum of 30 registrants must commit to attend in each region. Nurses who are unable to attend a full day session are welcome to registrer for portion(s) of an event. Some of the courses offered will contribute towards your Nursing Practice Premium. Education certificates will be available in the App.

The NSNU will cover expenses, including travel and meals, but not salary/salary replacement or accommodations. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Registration begins September 3rd and will remain open until midnight on September 20th. Registration will close early if we reach full capacity prior to September 20th.
